I had several issues attempting to get a map visible on my page. I went through a couple walk throughs on the internet that either resulted in a lot of confusion, or in issues that could not be resolved (I needed modules that were made for Drupal 6). After searching for several methods to solve this I finally stumbled upon the solution.
It is a similar method to how Anchal posted on how to get videos on your website. All you need to do is go to Google Maps, insert the address or postal code to get the point of interest. Once you have that there is an option with a chain (link) on it beside the printer icon. Click it, and it gives you two links; one link is just the url, and the other is a link that you can paste into your html (this is the one you need). Once you have the link, you can then insert it into the content where you want your map. Be sure to have the Text Format set to full HTML. Once this is done, click save and your map should be visible where you put the code.
I understand this isn't an elaborate walk-through, but if you have this issue it is a very easy and time saving solution.
